Self Improvement and Motivation

Want. Visualize. Believe. Do it!

Working on self improvement and motivation requires you took look both inside yourself and around yourself to find that which inspires you to be a better, happier person. Why are you trying? What are you trying for?

Your spouse or children or other family members can be a strong motivator. People who manage to quit bad habits, straighten their life out, or kick depression often acknowledge that knowing their loved ones needed them to succeed gave them the strength to carry through.

Others have to ‘hit rock bottom’, experience pain or live through humiliation to be motivated. Pain doesn’t have to be physical; it is often emotional or psychological – shame, guilt, embarrassment. Sometimes you can even be inspired by the success of another, and think, “If they can do it, I can too!” Self motivation can be kick-started by a good attitude. Implement some of the following in your life, and see your hopes and dreams turn into reality!

Self control from self improvement and motivation

Self Improvement and Motivation
With slight efforts, how can we obtain great results? It is foolish even to desire it.

Set goals

You can’t accomplish anything if you don’t know what you are striving for. Write down what your goal is, why you want to achieve it, and how you will accomplish it. Assign a reward for finishing each phase, and cheer yourself on!

Believe in yourself

Believe in yourself and your ability to improve. Hang mantras around your house to inspire you and help you remember to use positive self talk. Stay clear of toxic people who only bring you down. Cherish friends and family, and ask them to help you keep your goals in sight.

Be determined

Look at your progress from all angles, and constantly seek ways to improve. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Failure is an opportunity to try again, and get it right. Make things happen instead of waiting for them to come to you!

Live joyfully

Live in the moment, live for today. When you work, don’t think about how bad you need the money. When you learn, look on it as a gift, a tool and an inspiration, using what you learn to aid you every day, but also to enjoy for the sheer pleasure of it. When you play, throw yourself into it with abandon! Seize the day and take all it has to give.

Be true to yourself

Don’t fit yourself into someone else’s mold or let others dictate your goals and dreams. Likewise, don’t put people in compartments. Accept others the way you want to be accepted. Listen to others the way you want to be listened to.

Love yourself

Learn how to love yourself, and pass that knowledge on to others. Be honest, be fair and be dependable. If you trust yourself, others will too – and gradually you may learn to trust them.

Practice, practice, practice

Anything worth doing is worth taking the time and learning to do it well. Be proud of your work. Make excellence a priority, but don’t get so caught up in the little things that you miss the big picture.

Take control

Take control of your life, not to run roughshod over those in your way, but to learn how to steer yourself effectively. Self discipline is the key to success and happiness.

Smile

If you don’t feel like it, smile anyway. In fact, write ‘smile!’ on the back of one hand, and draw a smiley face on the other. Smiling makes you feel happy!

Want. Visualize. Believe. Do.

That is the simple system – follow it and watch your life unfold before you. You are the only one who can choose what you want your life to be, so make decisions, think positive thoughts and do good deeds along the way to build your world into a better place for you and those around you.

These are the keys to self improvement and motivation. Simply decide and do, and rejoice! Obstacles will disappear and you will experience true happiness and success!

Self improvement and motivation are good friends. Nurture this friendship.
